Each oyster company on Duxbury Bay has a float, basically a garden shed on a floating dock. Inside the Duxbury Oyster Company's float there are two metal culling tables. The floor has 4 hatches that can be opened to reveal the soaker, a place to put crates of oysters to keep them in the water but also easily accessible. The rest of the shed is filled with miscellaneous items from crates of seaweed and shells, tags and bagging supplies, waders, extra Grundens, gloves, and even a fishing pole (I never had any luck catching a fish off the float).
The float is where the majority of the work gets done out on the bay. I spent hours culling through crates of oysters, filling holding cars, and bagging oysters out on our float. Luckily, the shed provided shade and there was always Brian's South African Reggae music playing through the speaker making hours of standing much more bearable.
