In addition to raking during drainer tides (extremely low tides when the beds are completely exposed), another method for collecting oysters from the grant is through dredging. Dredging is pulling a rake/net contraption behind the boat while driving in a large circle. While this is a faster, easier way to dig up oysters, dredging also collects a lot of seaweed which needs to be sorted through and the contraption can damage the oysters if they hit the rake directly.
